Here is the compatibility chart for those bore guides... Maybe this will help you...??? I only see 2 options for Savage in .223 (#2 or #66)
I have been using a Universal Bore Guide and not 100% happy with the fit. I got a Possum Hollow #115 and it does not fit properly. For those of you with this rifle, what are you using?

According to the chart you need #2 for .223Rem (#66 is for Savage model 25). The one you bought, #115, is for 17HMR. The Excel spreadsheet from Possum's site is a little easier to work with, can highlight columns or rows and has larger print too - Bore Guides.
