Ditto on the DNZ Game Reaper (I like their 2-pc Hunt Master as well) if you have a short action and a longer scope. If you have a shorter scope and/or are working with a long action I generally recommend a picatinney rail to ensure you have enough flexibility in ring placement to ensure you can mount it and maintain proper eye relief.

I have installed the DNZ one piece on Damn near every rifle I own. I love the set up and have never had any issues. There customer service is great as well, just a good company to do business with.

There are a few mounts out there that have windage adjustments, particularly valuable if you intend to shoot long range. These allow you to set the windage turret on your scope to mid point when you're zero'd at say 100yds and then have plenty of windage adjustments available for crosswinds from either direction. I hope i made sense there....

Texas10 recommendation makes sense if you are looking for long range precision shooting. If just looking for a hunting setup good out to 400 yards or so, I gotta go with the other recommendations for DNZ GameReaper. Have setup 100's of deer rifles with them the last couple years, no regrets. Idiot proof and strong, secure. Really like them.

I couldn't help myself. I ordered a Warne steel base and Warne steel rings. This is going to be an F class rig. I'll lap them in

Burris Zee rings are highly underrated. Their QC is most excellent.
