Savage 10T-SR bolt lift kit install issue. New style cocking piece?

Hey all. I recently picked up a PTG bolt lift kit for my 10T-SR. The issue I am having is my cocking piece has a cocking indicator that protrudes through the back of the bolt. This really causes an issue due to the set screw that needs to occupy that space.

My question is, can I get an older style cocking piece without this indicator, or can I get away with cutting it off entirely? I'll try to post a picture. Does anyone else have this style cocking piece with cocking indicator in their model 10?
