    Older 110 question

I have a savage 110 long action staggerfeed 243. I'm wanting to change it to a 6.5x 284. My question is Do I need to get a new follower and mag box?

It depends on how old your 110 is if it is worth it. Stagger fed or center fed is one question to get us started. To get the most out of a 6.5-284 you would need have a long action feed port and magazine or you could single load. Yours might be set up for a short action mag. Confusing until you think about it. savage used one action length for a while and it was a long action. If I remember correctly they cut t he feed port short for a short action cartridge and long for the long action cartridges. Got any pictures of the action and magazine out of the stock. Looking at the bottom would be best.

If you load for hunting the same magazine might work. If there are feed problems you could tweak the feed lips.
