    Big game Hunting cartridge in 4.4 SA


    I have the opportunity to buy a short action 4.4 manners stock for a decent price. So, I would like to use for a mid to long range big game Hunting rig. My first thought was 6.5 saum with 140s. Is that actually do able in a short action?
    Also open to other cartridge ideas.
    This will be used for deer/elk.

    300 WSM was my elk rifle last fall. My brother uses the same and he dropped one where it stood at 592 yards. 212 ELD-X.

    Lots of short Mag options.
    But 6.5 saum seems like agreat choice for deer/elk.
