    Imr 4166

Just picked up a lb of 4166 to try. The label lists it as good for just about anything from 204 to 3006. Have any of you had good results with it? If so what caliber were you using it in?

Depends what your loading for. Tried it on 308. It was ok but varget worked better for my. What rifle do you plan on loading with this?

Give it a try and see how it works. 4166 cost more than varget. Hodgdon was pushing the new powders as better. Does seem cleaner burning.

I use it in my 260. I get about the same velocity as H4350 but with .5 grain of powder lighter than H4350.
They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Why? Did it shoot that badly in all those rifles?? I still haven't opened the lb I have. Trying to wait out this never ending winter here in Michigan.

    Don't you mean IMR4451?

IMR4166 is the burn rate band of Varget/4064/RL15.
