I saw a couple of people selling metal mag clips to replace the plastic ones on Boyds stocks on Ebay.
Just thought I would let you know.

I bought one ... just waiting on the stock through Boyd’s . This year it was either buy another budget rifle or improve the 223 hb axis

Here is the link to the eBay listing incase anyone wants it. I'm not sure if it was just me or not but the link provided by the OP didn't work.

Does anyone have any experience with these? I have a couple savage Axis rifles with Boyds stocks on them and was curious if these are really worth $20 and what improvement upgrading this would make.

Those look a bit rough compared to the version V3 Precision started making last year, and V3's pillars make a smart add-on.

Got the same one for 30. However, that was before I saw the v3 one that includes the front and rear pillar for a couple bucks more. I probably would have done the v3 had I seen it...
Impulse buying, always a bad thing.

I bought a V3 and it works very well with a Boyd stock and my 308 Axis. When I first installed my Boyd stock I had to do some fitting (including the plastic mag clip) for the magazines to lock in and release. I finally got them to work, but one of my two magazines was sticky, needing some coaxing when the bolt was open. After installing the V3, there were no problems; there is a positive click when the magazine locks in and no problems removing either magazines, regardless whether the bolt is open or closed. Highly recommended.

Initially, my short action magazine WOULD not seat into the magazine well. Nor would it click into place, even with a lot of pressure. I filed the rear (toward the butt of the rifle stock) of the magazine well when I noticed there was some of the finish texture material there that was a little prominent (just barely noticeable). This fixed the problem. Magazines fit excellent now. I actually bought the metal magazine latch thinking it would help. But it was the same with the metal and the plastic.

I was ready to send the thing back though. I thought the mag well had been inletted incorrectly. Didn't know how tight the tolerances were in that area.

I set a small block of hardwood in epoxy and drilled it out. I then put a longer pillar in the front got a 1 1/4in. 28tpi hardened screw from Menards then cut it to length. The factory action screw only went in 1.5 turns to tight on my boyds pro varmint. The new one goes in 3.5 turns without touching the bolt. I made an aluminum magazine retainer clip. It wont let me upload a pic or I would.
