Problems with a heavy barrel on a Model 111 FCNS

    Hi all,
Has anyone put a heavy barrel on a Model 111 FCNS 30-06. I'm told that the barrel inlet is too narrow for a heavy barrel. Has anyone opened up the Accustock barrel inlet to put a heavy barrel on a Model 111 FCNS 30-06? Did it leave a sharp top edge? I want to modify the Accustock rather than buy a new stock. How did you cut the composte? Were there any problems?

    Thanks.

Mine wasn't an accustock. I used a wooden dowel and sand-paper. Worked for me.

I just did this with my 111. I put a varmit barrel on and I do have the accustock. I made the call put the stock on the table saw and cut away the entire barrel area of the forearm. Used a sander to smooth it off. Definetly a unique look appears strong with the accustock and shoots very good. You can definetly tell the barrel is free floating.
