Screw hole spacing on butt pad

I did like to put a recoil pad on my older model 116 stock. Most of the screw hole spacing on the pads are 3.125” for the Savage 110 series. My holes spacing is 3.5”. Any idea what pads will fit this stock?

Easiest thing to do is drill out the existing holes to 3/8" and then glue a piece of hardwood dowel into them. Trim flush and then you can use whatever screw spacing you want.

I thnk you’re right. Probably a good idea anyhow due to the hollow structure.
