Model 112 j series barrel swap

It's an intermediate action (4.522") Model 112 J series, was a 220 Swift but I cleaned it up and put a 6mmBR Norma barrel on it. Cleaned a ton of crud, 40 years worth out of the bolt and went to shooting it today. Have a SSS competition trigger coming from Fred.

Used Burris 2 piece pic rail and signature rings to mount a 6-24 Vortex. EGW does still make a one piece 20 MOA rail for it but I didn't find them until after I ordered the Burris set.

    Shoots like a dream! 28.4 - 30.2 Varget, Berger 105 HVLDs and CCI 450s

Looks like you've got yourself a shooter.

    Thanks J. I measured the groups a little while ago. It was in the low 5s at 28.4, in the 3s from 28.6 through 29.2, 29.4 was high 4s then 29.6 through 30.2 was in the 2s with a .201 @ 30.2

I have a lot of nice custom barreled Savages, in several 6 & 6.5 calibers, Lapuas, Creedmoors, 6.5-284s, etc. but this is the first time I've ever had a rifle shoot that small across that wide of a powder charge especially on the initial load work up and on the first time shooting the rifle. Plenty cold today as in 0* the only reason I shot today was the wind wasn't blowing.

If I can get past myself it should get better.
