tested my new Axis against my 700

I bought an Axis XP in camo, .30-06 last month. I bought this for hunting deer in thick woods, rarely would I have a shot over 100 yards. I put a Kydex cheek rest on, replaced the rings w/ a 1-piece DNZ mount, trimmed the trigger spring way back, and swapped out for a new Nikon Buckmaster. I took it to the range today to test against the only rifle I have ever hunted with - a Rem700 in 7mm-08 (LSS model). My first three shots at 100 yards are in the post below thanks to J.Baker covering my lack of tech skills. No matter the factory brand ammo or grain weight, every group was 1.5" or better with the Axis. I was not able to shoot that tight w/ my 700 no matter how many groupings I shot. With the rebate and including tax, I have less than $450 in this gun and it is fantastic. I can see me swapping out the stock someday, but I need to try at least one season with the plastic. I am more than pleased and quite surprised to shoot 1" MOA with my first three shot grouping.

Tried fixing your photo for you, but apparently Google has share-proofed their image hosting as there's no way I can find to get a direct URL to the image (ending in .jpg or .gif). Soo...best I could do was save it to my PC and upload it directly for ya.

Good to hear your new Axis is more than capable of good accuracy.

Light rifles shooting cartridges like the 30'06 are not easy to shoot off the bench due to the recoil whipping the rifle in every direction.
