Does the axis come in different size actions?

Im going to get a Axis II Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor heavy barrel from Walmart and plan on getting a Boyds stock. What size action and barrel stock should I order?
    Thanks for your help!

6.5 Creedmoor is a short action cartridge. The action itself is kind of a Medium length action... Measure your action screws from center to center to get the proper spaced stock. The barrel channel will most likely be a "factory channel" but you can open up the channel with a dowel and sandpaper if you need to.

Q: What is the action screw spacing on the Savage Axis?
A: All Axis models have the same overall action length and have a screw spacing of 4.800". Those chambered for S/A cartridges use a S/A length magazine and trigger guard piece while those chambered for L/A cartridges use a L/A length magazine and trigger guard piece.

In the top 3 fields select "Savage" "Axis" "Short Action Detachable Magazine Bull Barrel"

    Hit "Go"

This ensures there is room for the thicker barrel in the stock's larger bull barrel cut channel.

Select the model stock you want.

The Prairie Hunter is my favorite in a Camo color. The stock shapes are below.

    The Heritage is nice also.

I would get the metal trigger guard.

I would get a metal magazine clip rather than plastic.

If you really want to go all out, you can pillar bed the stock with these pillars.

Action screw spacing is the same for ALL Axis rifles.

However, Axis chambered for "Short Action Cartridges" have a different MAGAZINE well then do "Long Actions". Therefore, if your Axis is 30-06, get a "long action" stock. If it's a 223, or 6.5 Creed, get a "short action" stock.
