    Another FNG on point!

Very excited as I haven't been big into forums and such, but love to hunt, shoot, fish etc. I love to learn from those that have "been there and done that." I've owned two Savage rifles for 10+ years and recently bought a 12FV 6.5CM. I'm looking for advice on the fit/finish for a Boyd thumbhole and Vortex Viper HS 6-24x50 MIL that I've purchased for the rifle. It appears I need a different trigger guard and wonder about the base/rings to get the most out of the rifle and scope. If anyone can help with any of it, all of it or point me in the right direction with a specific forum subject/thread, I'd be much obliged. Thanks.

My brother bought the 12FV about 2 years ago, and has been very happy with it. Boyds TH stock should work just fine (Measure action screw spacing to ensure you order the right one. Should be a short action with blind mag and factory barrel channel. You can open up the barrel channel with a dowel and sand paper. By brother put the Bobby Hart LRT on his. He did have to dremmel the trigger guard area a little bit to get his factory trigger guard to fit.

I have a Sightron SIII 6-24x50 on my 260 Rem. I used a 20 MOA Blackhawk rail and Blackhawk 6 hole tactical rings (MED) and it is the perfect height. 1/4" of clearance at most from the barrel. Just enough room to slide the Scope cover on.

    Hope that helps some.
