    Hello From Napa, CA


    This is my first attempt at posting something. Have been a member of the forum for about 6 weeks. Major shooting interests include shooting skeet, trap and sporting clays and varmint hunting, mostly ground squirrels and rock chucks. Currently have Savage rifles in 17 WSM, 22 WMR and just received my new A17. The first 2 have been good performed after some trigger spring changes. I use barrel tuners on them and can regularly get sub MOA groups at 100 yds. The A17 is a disappointment out of the box. Magazine won't latch in the receiver. Falls out of the gun easily. Stock has quite a few scratches and dings with raw wood showing. Has a large 1.5 in. X .25 in stain on the stock by the ejection port. Looks like black paint or stain. Have not seen this sort of thing before from Savage. Gun goes back to Savage tomorrow.
