    B17 HMR Bad Barrels


    Anyone with a B17 HMR having trouble with splitting cases and very very bad accuracy? Yes, I have tried every ammo Mfg selling.17 HMR.
    I have the plastic stock. yes I know Barrels with a L not a K

    Yes. I bought 2 B17's with the heavy barrels . I had to have them recrowned . There was damage 1/4" inside the barrel on both . They started off shooting 3" groups , now they shoot .5" groups with Hornady 20g . I got real creative with one and attempted an action bedding , worked out and did improve accuracy slightly . Tuning the action screws seemed to do the most . I went 15 in/lbs front 10 in/lbs rear , that seemed to get the best accuracy out of mine.

    Both seem very picky with the action screws and ammo
