I have an older flat back 111 that I built off of last year for mule deer hunting out west. I bought a 24” Criterion light Varmint barrel cambered in 260 and it shoots 140 vld about 1/2 MOA out to 550 yards. I put a Boyd’s pro varmint on it and bed the lug topped with a vortex viper hslr 4-16x44.

Now all loaded it weights 11.5 pounds which on my last hunt I got tired of carrying on our hikes. If I can find a lighter stock than the Boyd’s I will send my gun off and have the barrel fluted to cut more weight. Does the new Bell & Carlson M40 weigh less than the Boyd’s? Or can I get the standard Bell & Carlson sporter stock and open up the barrel chanel enough and still have rails? Anyone have experience in the Bell & Carlson for the blind mag savages? Thanks
