    How accurate is your 110

New member here and first time poster. I was wandering if all savages are as accurate as mine. I can put 3 shots in a target at 100 yards and cover them up completely with a dime. But this .30-06 kicks so hard you don’t want to shoot it much more than that, lol.

It’s a 1990 combo model sporter that has the scope mounts made onto the rifle.

I have a 116 in 30-06 that'll do it consistently, Mine came with the adjustable brake and I also have an aftermarket slip on recoil pad on it.
It makes all the difference in the world and I can go through several boxes of ammo in a day with no problem.

The stock is light for the rifle. Take a look at what can be done, and you'll be able to shoot as much as you can afford.

Bought a model 111fcxp3 in .300 win mag . about 8-9 years ago as a back-up rifle. mounted a Leupold vxII with leu.rings and basis. I was going to change ''that'' soft rubbery recoil pad but after shooting it from sandbad and off hand, the El Cheapo rifle is my main rifle... I can keep 3 rounds inside an inch.....I'm half blind and shake like a winter leaf until I've had a couple cups of JAVA. A friend I shoot with can shrink the groups to ''campfire BS'' size...(165 grainers) I shoot 200 and 220 grainers.
point is, I used to love my 700 ADL Remington and to a lesser degree, 1964 model 70win. both in .30-06. The Winchester ,because of the ''then new POS'' stock design kicked real-hard. the 700 not so much with the heavy laminated stock.
the Savage ,recoils less than either AND is a lot more accurate with ANYTHING from 150-220 grainers.
In my not so humble opinion, ya just can't beat a SAVAGE.

I have an older pre accutrigger 110FP Tactical in 25-06. It's the worst shooting model I own, although that is probably due to not working up a proper load more than anything.
