    I got a oldie .22 lr

I got a H.W Cooey .22lr Ace 1. It's got a 17" barrel and 17" stock, weighs 3lbs. It's not pretty to look at but it shoots okay at 50-75 yds, has heavy trigger but you get use to it. It was made in 1929-34 In Canada. How it got to Michigan I'll never know. I'll be giving it to oldest grand child to learn gun safety, sighting and hunt with. The gun was given to me when it was found in the attic of a old house. Well happy shooting to all.

Well now I learned something new! I don't recall ever hearing about H.W. Cooey and only live four hours from Canada. They made over 12,000,000 long guns of various types - including SMLEs in WWII.

They look very much like the Canadian version of Savage.

well, got the cooey back from gunsmith. He worked on the bolt and trigger and now down to a tolerable 3lb pull. now need to wait for spring to sight it in. The grandkids will be happy. The l.o.p. is 13 1/2", great for young-uns, short for an adult.
