WTS: Savage 14 American Classic Stock with Upgrades

For sale is a Savage 14 American Classic walnut stock (RH, CF, 4.40") that I upgraded with some finishing touches. $150.00 Shipped.

The original finish was top coated with 10-15 coats of Tru-Oil Gunstock Finish for easy touch-up and maintenance. The poly grip cap was replaced with a metal grip cap finished in brushed stainless steel Gun-Kote with gold Savage Indian Head logo. The original 1/2" hard rubber recoil pad was replaced with a 0.6" Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad with Old English face for better recoil management and a classic look. The stock was epoxy bedded using a Savage 16 LWH, RH, CF (4.40") action, metal bottom bolt release trigger guard and metal DBM frame assembly (surround). But, stock should be a drop-in-fit for any Savage SA, RH, top or bottom bolt release action with center feed (CF), 4.40" bolt spacing, factory recoil lug and sporter weight barrel. PM me if you have any questions.

I recently bought a Savage 11 LWH walnut stock from a site member. I stripped the oil based finish and painted it using woodland tan duracoat and Krylon black webbing. This is a much better light weight stock for the Savage 16 LWH barreled action than the original factory tupperware stock.

Good deal, congrats on the snag. I was hoping you were looking for a new home for that action.

Thanks! I was looking. Had a LA stock a few years ago from a 114 Ultra. The Ultra eventually became the Classic I think. Stripped the finish and refinished with Danish Oil. It was Purty! Had a 7mm Magnum on it. Stock eventually cracked right behind the recoil lug and that was that. Have been looking for one ever since.

I sold the customized Savage 14 American Classic stock above because I had already customized a Savage LWH walnut stock with all SS bottom metal for show. I wanted a wood LWH stock for hunting to replace the flexible synthetic factory stock on the Savage 16 LWH. I purchased one from a site member. I stripped the oil finish and painted with Duracoat woodland tan and Krylon black webbing. I upgraded to a black metal grip cap, SS trigger guard and kept the black poly DBM frame assembly (surround) to keep it light weight.

Just to make sure before I ship, this is a short action, center feed 14 American Classic stock. It will not fit a Savage LA, RH, CF barrel action.

Thanks JP. The short action is what I wanted.

Don't know if I will find another LA Classic or not but ya never know. One I have been looking for is for a LA Stagger Feed....those are kinda rare unless you buy an entire rifle. Numrich had one last year and I put off buying it for a day. Mistake!

Clearly some you you need a refresher on the Classified rules:

    More specifically Rule #1...

    1. The classifieds are for selling items or posting want ads. They ARE NOT an area for you to discuss various topics related to or unrelated to the items listed, nor are they for "What's it worth" or "I'm thinking about selling.." type posts.
