Hi-
I live down in southern Oregon and use a Savage 11 in .308 to hunt black tailed deer and black bears. I also use is pretty frequently at the great range we've got here (Josephine County Sportsman's Park). I shoot 168 SMK's over a load of H414, lots of work and many 1/2 used cans of powder allowed me to confidently settle on that load for shooting paper out to 300 yards. For the critters I use 150 NAB over a load of H4895, all the bullets are seated pretty close to the lands. On top of the gun is a Bushnell Elite 4x16x50mm. According to my empty primer box I've shot nearly 700 trouble free rounds through the gun. I've made no modifications to it but am thinking about switching to 165 TBBC bullets for hunting. Nice to meet you all.
