Howdy all,

In celebration of New York State opening my county to rifle for whitetail hunting for the first time I just picked up a Savage M11 in .260 Rem (with a little help from Santa).

So, here I am.

My 2017 firearm deer fell to my Remington 11-87 w Hastings bbl and a Hornasy SST sabot. My "rifle substitute" that does a great job out to 150 yards. Also an avid bowhunter with recurves & wood arrows (traditional gear). Got a six-point in 2017 with my bow.

Back in the late 70's I was an avid varmint hunter (.222 Rem on up to 110 gr bullets in a .270 WIN) and currently keep a .223 Rem single-shot for those times the chickens or green beans are threatened here on our little "hobby farm". Looking forward to getting the Savage figured out and ready for next fall.
