    Re: Savage heavy bolt lift

Send it to Fred Moreo at SharpShooterSupply, a sponsor here. The only other thing you can do is make a part from a .38. special cartridge case and a ball bearing to put in the bolt. Search on here for a description of how to make it and install it. It does help some, but the true and timeing by Fred is the best thing you can do for the rifle. Most serious Savage shooters have it done. Hopefully someone will chime in with the link to that cartridge case/ball bearing thing.

I did send one of my rifles to Guru Fred for the T&T. I was just hoping for an easier DIY solution without the wait. ;D

    Re: Savage heavy bolt lift

Your looking for a 4.5mm or .177" bearing.

    Re: Savage heavy bolt lift

does anyone know the spec's for the 38spl, specifically the ball bearing diameter that was initially used? It seems to be a simple fix.
