    New to Savages

Hi gang, just got my first Savage as a Christmas present. An Axis XP in.223 Rem. Not a fan of the stock so, I ordered a Boyds Heritage in Pepper laminate for it. I'm sure it isn't the most accurate rifle on the market but, based on my research, I can guarantee it will outshoot my abilities. I plan on using it for coyote control.

As for me, new to Savages but, not new to rifles and guns. Retired Marine served 1975 to 1995. Currently work at the VA, processing disability claims. Plan on retiring for good in a year and a half. Married for, will be 40 years, in June. 3 kids, 2 grandkids. I like fishing and hunting and whatever the wife tells me I like. Live in SE Wisconsin.

I don't have a lot to offer when it comes to gunsmithing. Actually, I have nothing to offer when it comes to gunsmithing. However, I believe that if I hang around long enough, someone will ask a question about something I know a little bit about. I may not be the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree but, I like to think I blink every now and again. Other than that, expect many simple questions from me.

I hope you all had a merry Christmas and will have a happy New Year.

    Semper Fi,
    Jimmy
