Put a allen wrench in the back of the bolt and unscrew.
Slip off old handle and on new one.
Put screw back in and tighten.

That's pretty much it, some of those allens can be pretty tight.

Some of them can also be flat-head slots for a big screwdriver! ;D
You know what's funny, I have had several orginal rifles with the Strait slot, and several new ones with the allen. All the allens have been overly tight, and all the slotted ones have been loose, one even loose to the point that i took it off with my fingers. Maybe Savage got the gorillias that tighten the barrel nuts to pull double duty adntightn up the bolt screws too? LOL :P
