    Greetings from Montana

Questions were e-mailed to Savage and no response received. Called Savage and was told that one employee has the job of answering e-mails. I was informed to be patient. Luckily, I found this site. I have never owned any Savage product. I want to ask this community questions about Savage rifles. My vision and my dream is an accurate, precise rifle to shoot at and to kill prairie dogs located at long distances from the muzzle. For several years, three of us have meet every summer for a week in eastern Montana and used the hood of my 4Runner to shoot at prairie dogs. I want to replace my very old Remington 700 in .243 with a new Savage in .243.

Well Dave I have shot quite a few prairie dogs in S E Montana with several factory savage rifles in both 223 and 22x250 AI.
Mine are the model 12 version which has a heavier barrel. As a general rule they are very accurate guns, but handloading can make it better.
But I have to be perfectly honest with you Dave, in that ive killed them with custom barreled 700s also. lol
Buy the Savage Dave and enjoy the new year.
