difference between 110 and 111 BBR stocks

I find this very confusing. What is different between 111 and 110 - both BBR and center feed? Will a 110 stock work on a 111? I am finding different action spacing lengths 5.06 and 5.10 thats hard to discern with stock on and the release in the way..

does 110 use old style mag and 111 use Axis?I guess it doesn't matter as I am returning the 110 stock I ordered.

There is no difference between a 110, 111, 114, 116 Savage LA stock with BBR trigger guard and CF magazine inlet. The footprint and action screw spacing (5.0") are the same.

Thats what I originally thought when I ordered one of boyds closeouts. When I got it, didnt fit very well at all and had wrong recoil pad. I went through the stock selector there and found they have different PNs for them and different measurements. I could have gotten it to fit better but recoil pad affecting l-o-p was the deal killer. As it was, not my first choice for model of stock but I liked the color and it was supposed to have the pad I wanted. I searched "110/111 differences" for a couple of hours there is so many threads its hard to sift through them for a first timer.

Might be why it was being sold as a closeout stock.

As JP noted there's no difference between a 110 or 111 (or 114 or 116) other than the magazine yours has - staggered feed or center feed. Screw position and spacing on the long action has remained the same from 1958 to present day, as has overall length and diameter.

Unfortunately due to all the changes Savage has made over the last 50+ years (mostly to the short actions) there's a LOT of confusion. Savage's insistence on mixing parts between lines (Axis magazines on 111 Trophy Hunters) in recent years has just added more confusion to the existing pile.

Boyds isn't an expert on Savage's (or any other brand), nor can you reasonably expect them to be when they offer stocks for 200+ brands of rifles, and as such they sometimes get bitten by the confusion bug as well.
