    Shank size

    Can someone refresh my memory.
Getting ready to rebarrel my Savage HS in 308. I'm almost certain it's a small shank. I have a LRP model in 6.5 and I know it has a large shank. I'm I correct in saying this?

Small shank: 7/8" long nut, 1.055"
Larger shank: 5/8" long nut, 1.120"

You most likely have a small shank being 308 but savage rifle makers can be real savages when deciding to make production runs
