Can't speak for 1K, but I have run 'em out to 400yds over 45grs of Varget and i love em.
It's probably been asked before, how does the 155 Amax do at 1K, out of a 308?

I recently bought some to try in my son's 98 Mauser barreled with a Parker Hale heavy match barrel. It's a 1/12 or 1/14 twist so only the lighter bullets will work in it.

The farthest I've run them to is about 700m and its very consistent. 45.1g of IMR 4895.
They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
Try the 208 gr amax over about 48.5 gr of RL17 in win brass.
My last chrono results were 2600 fps out of a 22" barrel.
If you have a 26" barrel, run it at about 3.2" in a throated barrel, neck sized
win brass, you can get about 2750.
2600 is enough FPS to stay supersonic out to 1400 yards
If you can push them at 2800-2900 they will but anything under 2800 won't work past 900 and be super sonic. I was using them at about 2975 out of a 26" barrel and they were very accurate contary to what some say.
May partly depend upon where you are, barrel length, etc -- I've shot 155's successfully at 1000 yd at Raton, from a 26 inch barrel, but believe they would be marginal at lower elevations due to the greater velocity loss.
You can use JBM's ballistics calculator:
http://www.jbmballistics.com/cgi-bin...j_simp-5.1.cgi
to see if they will be supersonic at 1000 yd at your elevation.
