I ordered and recieved in less than 2 weeks. So far it seems to be a good fit on an Axis II xp HB in 223.

Inletted for bull barrel, target overmold grip and metal trigger guard upgrades. Also changed out the plastic mag clip to an aluminum one I found on ebay. The barrel is free floated, but not by much. Planning to pillar bed and bed action later. Any tips on bedding? jb weld vs devcon.

That one is also an axis ii, got it 5 years ago as a 308, but rebarreled it to a 223 to be able to practice shooting and reloading cheaply. Apache barrel that has almost 3k rounds through it, it groups half a minute to sub consistently on my good days. She loves 75amax/eld and varget.

I have it on a mdt lss chassis and a xlr buttstock. I figured I'd swap the barrel down to my sister's later when I rebarrel back to 308 or 6.5. Or build another one for my sons, they'll soon outgrow thier 22lr rascal.

Great rifle that is still teaching me a lot about shooting and chasing my tail reloading trying to find the perfect load.

I also just received an AT one stock for a left hand 223. It was very tight in the receiver area, took a lot of sanding and filing to get the action in, the safety to slide and to insert and remove the magazine. The barrel was free floated nicely. But it was worth the effort as it really shoots great. But it did before the stock switch. Better being tight than loose.

Any tips on bedding? jb weld vs devcon.

These days I personally just pillar and bed the front lug with JB Weld. Trying to skimcoat the entire action is a pain in the a**

I also only do pillaring and partial bedding on Axises. It will go from the back of the recoil lug to the front of the magwell. Then I'll put some epoxy around the flat portion of the trigger bracket.

As for what epoxy, I prefer the little tubes of Devcon plastic steel epoxy and JB Weld. I've tried the Devcon putty, but it was a little stiff for my tastes. Also, the Devcon epoxy has a slightly more acrid smell than JB Weld.

Thanks for the info, I think I will install pillars first and see how she shoots. I'll let my sister progress with shooting fundamentals before anymore upgrades like scopes and etc. Probably keep the 4lb trigger until she gets good a trigger finger, then I'll mod/polish/shim it like the 1lb trigger I have on mine.

On another note, after sitting behind the rifle, my wife commented that she likes the comfort of the traditional stock vs chassis. I tried to get her to like the ar platform so I can convert my 16' lightweight into a 18' dmr for her. That's a no-go, so I guess another savage build for 2018!
