New member and I have an issue.......

    Hello,
Found this forum, while cruising the web looking for a solution to my problem. I thought I would drop the question here, thinking I maybe not the first to have this happen. I recently purchased a Boyd's replacement stock for my 93R17 left hand. While torquing, the actions screws I felt and heard a small pop. So I disassembled and inspected, what I found was that the cast metal connecting the magazine retention system to the main trigger housing had cracked, what was one piece is now two pieces. Can photos be uploaded? That would help in describing what I'm up against. My question is, does a company sell just the housing, without the internal parts? Or do I need to go to Savage and order the entire trigger assembly? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In order to post a picture becoming a menber gives you a few options. Otherwise, uploading your photos to a picture storage web site like the ones on this list (http://www.ebizmba.com/articles/photo-sharing-sites) except Photo Bucket(bad mojo) will allow you to link to your photos. Make sure the site is free to link to.

Are you talking about the cast housing that holds all the trigger parts?

If so, Savage will be the only source and I would imagine you will have to order the entire assembly. If your rifle has the newer E-receiver this thread has the assembly part number for ya.

    I THINK.....

If you call Savage and tell them that it broke (just don't tell them about the aftermarket stock) they will want you to ship it to them and they will fix it for free.
But you will have to put it back in the original stock.
