I picked up a nice 7-digit 99 in .308 this month. Because I like peeps, I ordered a Williams to mount in the rear scope taps... it mounted easy peasy, no problem.

I took it to the range today (indoors... ) to test drive it and get the peeper on paper, as it turned out, the as-delivered peep was set almost perfectly and I made no adjustment. The only problem was, as it sets on the receiver, it is so low I have to take my head back on the stock to be able to get my eye down far enough to see the FSP through the peep! Is it normal with the 99 to have to put a higher FSP on the rifle with a receiver peep? Am I missing something?
