Unknown part in new Savage 12FV box...

    Hello all!

New poster here, but been shooting and competing for over 45 years.

Bought a new Savage 12FV in .204 from Cabelas today, and loose in one of the box compartments was an unknown part (to me anyway..)

ill try try to post a pic of it...

Anyone know what it might be?

    Thanks for any help.

    Mike

Yes... it was indistinct in the parts diagram.

Fitted fine and will have a go with this rifle tomorrow.

    Thanks!

    Mike

P.S. Bought the rifle for $419, with a $100 rebate... $319 plus some sales tax out the door.

So that's why Cabela's is selling them so cheap, there's "Some assembly required." LOL

    It shoots pretty good...

Mounted a cheap 10X scope, scrubbed the barrel with a brush, bore sighted it, then patched it a few times and shot a few groups this morning.

Once dialed in on paper, this was the 2nd group. 5-Shots, 100 yards, no wind. Factory Fiocchi 32 Gr. V-Max.

Not too bad for a $319 rifle and .60 cent factory loads.

Not crazy about the accutrigger blade gizmo. I removed it from my A17, and I think I'll do the same on this one.

I'd like to find a wood (not laminate) bench style stock for it. Any suggestions?

I have a Rock River AR in .204 that shoots about as good ... but was also 5 times the price.
