    Savage 24V .30-30 variation question

Greetings to one and all. I have a question.

With regards to the .30-30 version of the 24V... I have a new-to-me specimen on the way (this week I hope). I plan to load for it; I do for my other guns. What pressures is this action built to withstand? I don't plan to do any hotrodding or anything. I know what data says about the cartridge; does anyone know what the magic number (actual number) is for the gun? Failing that, what's an upper end load someone has used successfully in one without the gun looking like it's going to fall apart?

Thanks in advance. I probably should have joined sooner... I do have a Model 99 and my teen daughters both shoot Axis bolts, so there are a few in the family already.

The guns were build to the same SAAMI pressure specifications that 30-30's have been built to for the last 100 years. They have pretty thin barrels though, so I wouldn't suggest pushing it too hard. Besides, it's a 30-30, not like an extra 100fps or so is going to make much difference in usable yardage. LOL

I have a 24 in 30/30. As was stated, they handle all factory ammunition. I also shoot a lot of cast bullets from ours and it shows terrific accuracy. Hope this helps.
