    mod 10 bolt closes hard

just rebarreled this from 6.6 creed to 22-250...set head space with go and no go gages,
but seems like I have to push in the bolt to get is closed..Even WITHOUT a case in the
chamber..What do you think about it..?

Pull the barrel and measure from your case to the breech (This is case protrusion). Now measure the depth of the bolt face and subtract from the case protrusion dimension. If it is a positive number you should be ok. If the boltface is deeper than case protrusion Rusty railed it.

Did you goof with the bolt head, sometimes the baffle hangs up?

At first blush, it sounds like the nose of the bolt is coming in contact with the breech of the barrel.

Try this... clean the nose of the bolt and extractor, then ink it with a sharpie or magic marker. With no cartridges in the rifle, work the bolt a few times.

Now look at the nose of the bolt. Is the ink smeared? If it is, then the barrel is threaded too far into the receiver and the bolt nose is touching it, and it shouldn't be. If the rifle is within the headspace range and the bolt is touching the barrel, then the barrel is machined wrong (chamber is too deep). It can be fixed by having a thousandth or so machined off the breech end of the barrel to give the bolt a little more room. (You might even find that a stamped mark in the end of the barrel is the point of interference and can be removed by a few swipes with a file.)

....and just to make sure we didn't miss anything you can back off the front action screw to see if that helps. If so add washer or trim screw.
