    Savage 260 Rem-Last Antelope Hunt!

I've done some hunting this year but nowhere near enough. A buddy and I went out a couple of Fridays ago to try to fill my doe antelope tag. We sure had a great time and I even managed to get a doe with some unusual headgear; but the real entertainment came from a bunch of cattle on the ranch where we hunted. There was something about my van that must have made them think about food because when we stopped to look over a herd of antelope we were mobbed by the steers. There were cattle itching their heads on both the front and rear bumpers, and on all 4 tires. The van was rocking back and forth and I couldn't stop laughing. It was definitely a good time. This was my last hunt with this rifle; as several days later I shipped it to its new owner in North Carolina. Kid in college, rifle had to go.

    Particulars-

    43 Grains IMR 4350 Powder

Overall Length of My Loaded Cartridge is 2.90 inches which, in my rifle, equates to 0.020 inches off the lands

That sure would make an interesting mount.
But I'm curious about the bench/shooting setup.
Is the bench attached to the chair? and what is the front rest setup?

Nice job! That's definitely one strange looking antelope.

Thank you folks for your comments! Foxx, are you about ready for deer camp or is that a little ways off?

yobuck - I agree that head would make an interesting mount, but unfortunately one of the horns broke off while my friend was dragging it to the van in the dark. Pictures will have to do the trick of this old girl. I have posted a few pictures of my shooting bench set up. I'd really like for wheelchair hunters to have access to what I, and others, have done to keep getting it done no matter what. Please PM me with your email address and we can chat more about this. I happen to have very limited use of my hands and I designed a trigger to overcome that personal challenge. I'd be happy to share details on my trigger as well if there's any interest.

Thanks again folks for your comments and I wish all of you a great hunting season!

My shooting support system pictured above has evolved a bit into the "bench" that I currently use, which is pictured below.

Rifle opener is Nov 15th. No archery for me this year. Too much work. Looking forward to it, for sure.
