    It's stretching but

I've got an flcp-sr 308 and gonna be putting a Burris 4-20 with the h591 reticle on come tax time. My question is do you guys think I could get away with a 30 moa base really want to be able to stretch to the 1400 yard target at rock castle if I ever make it out there and gonna need all the mils I can squeeze

What is the available MOA on your elevation turret? (meaning total MOA or Mils in your case) and also how much elevation do you have left available from your 100 or 200 yard zero? I have a .260 Rem and at 1400 yards it my ballistic app says about 55 MOA of elevation is needed or 16 MRAD. your 308 should be in the same ballpark, with maybe a little more elevation needed, but that would depend on your MV and bullet BC.

My Sightron has 80 MOA of total elevation and 64 MOA still available on elevation turret from my 100 yard zero... I run a 20 MOA rail on mine. Ballistic app says I'm good out to 1500 yards, but I haven't "trued" that far out. my MV is 2750 fps shooting the 143 ELD-X (G7= .311).

Hope that helps a little anyway.

I just looked up your scope... says 90 MOA of total elevation.... You should be able to get there with a 30 MOA rail for sure.

I'm using Strelok Pro, so we are running the same app. I think it gets it done for you, only way to be certain is to T it up and give it a go.

I run 30 MOA on everything in the 308 family of cartridges. Load the 308 up with some 185 Jugs and you will be damn amazed of it's capabilities!
