Hello All,

I am new to the forum and if this is the incorrect place to ask for information, please disregard.

I have done a caliber change / rebarrel on a 99E savage. This is my personal rifle/ project. The change was from 243 to 358 Winchester. It necessitated changing the carrier. The replacement carrier has the numbers stamped for the counter. I would like to mill a slot so the numbers can be seen. The information i need to do this is the distance from the front edge of the receiver to the leading edge of the counter viewing slot and then the height and width of the slot. Would anyone be willing to take the measurements for me? Also, does slot location vary from generation to generation?
