    7-300 win. Mag


    Anyone shooting a 7-300 win. Mag or 7 mm practical? Looking at building one our of a older 116 action.

    what could go wrong? High velocity 7mm! Big game or long range.

    Been thinking about building one recently, here's a good article if you haven't seen it. Haven't gotten into the details (reamer, throating, etc) but it's a pretty thorough write up.

    Thanks for the reply. I have read that article. It seems a great round. I live in south texas, hope to hunt nilgai and long range shooting.

    I have a barrel to build one, just haven't done it yet. It's so close to the .300 Win Mag I already have that I haven't seen the need. My uncle does have a custom built on a non-savage platform in 7-300 and it shoots great.
    112 BVSS .300 Win Mag, 12 FVSS .308, 110 FCP-K 25-06, 110 30-06
