    Quick question about cleaning scope.

What do you guys use to clean your scope lenses that have a shade mounted on it.

I got caps on my scopes, but it still seems to get dust and dirt on my out of state trips. It was a real problem last year.

I would recommend blowing the dirt/dust off first, canned air is cheap at Walmart and works well for hard to get places.
Lately ive been using the lens wipes used for cleaning eye glasses and again, Walmart.
There are also tissues specifically made for that purpose, and also various sprays with brand names like Zeiss for example.
But it still requires blowing the dirt/dust off first, and I find I can keep a few packs of the wipes handy for whatever needs them.

Not sure if the shade was crossthreaded on my vortex, but it is tight. I'm afraid I will break it if I put to much force on it.

I got a ziess cleaning kit I typically use. I did blow it out once I got back to the house. I guess I should add canned air to my OOS hunting box.

I didn't know if you guys had a specific thing you did.

My PA I just unscrewed the shade and cleaned with the Ziess stuff. The Vortex was bought used and had the shade on already. And the seller did tell me he couldn't get the shade so i got a sweet deal on it. I just didn't think about the difficulty cleaning until I was already in Kentucky and two weeks of dusty fields and back roads on the gator where starting to build up. I got caps for it now so hopefully I won't even need to clean now, but you never know out there.
