    7mm-08

A couple of first tries with loads for the Savage.
Either, while not great would work for deer load at the ranges I shoot. .

    Looks good to me.

Hunting is far more about being able to place your shot than hitting and X that does not exist on an animal!

What would worry me is having 3 close enough together for a hunting rifle, and another on the left side of the paper

I have 4 7mm08's and they will all do better than that. I am not busting on you, you need to go further. Varget works the best for me with 139 gr hornadys sp.
Keep at it , your going to find the load " Experiment"

For a hunting rifle, I've always maintained knowing the best it is capable of means little. When I hit the field I want to know the worst it is capable of before taking a shot at an animal.
Going to do some measuring today to see how much room I have to seat out longer.
For throwing some loads together, with a $399 rifle/scope combo, and knowing the shooter, these were encouraging.

What OAL are you using? Measurements show 2.787 is 30 thou jump on this rifle.

Try some 140 Seirra Gamekings Spitzer Boat-tails on top of that W760 load.

i am shooting book recommended coal. Never had any trouble finding a accurate load. Like suggested I think the 139/140 grain bullets work best. I have been shooting the 708 since 1984 and the hornady 139 sp is my preference. Shoots moa in 4 rifles with varget seated to book recommended coal. Try it!
    2.800" coal

My hunting load is 46.5 gr IMR 4350 with a Sierra 140 gr BTSP gameking. That load has killed a lot of deer, goats and pigs for me. Groups about 2" at 200 yds in my rifle.

The 7mm08 I load for is a mod 11 and weights 7.25 lbs scoped. It kinda has a sharp kick to it. I settled on 41.5 gr Varget 140 Berg VLDH. Slow velocity 2,740 but out to 400 yards it's a no brainer.

1 moa is more than good enough out to 400 yards. Unless you have nothing better to do, I see no reason to spend more time in load development.
