Internal mag question

After converting a 308 to a 223, i cant get the mag to accept more then one round. Its a staggered feed. Do I need to do anything to the mag or the spring? From my research, all that was needed was a bolt head and barrel. What am I missing?

You will need a 223 magazine and follower. I might, again might, have a 223 follower and spring. If you swap that mag box I'd be interested in obtaining it.

I think I have an extra .223 body.

Thanks for the info. Let me think about a swap as I was considering keeping everything in the event I ever wanted to convert back to the OE setup. I do here they are hard to come by though...
