    Lost Spring

The spring that sits in a hole in the receiver on the Axis trigger went missing somewhere between my work room and barrel vice. Forgot to take it out. Not good to lose a spring in the desert. Anyway gave up looking. Is that spring really necessary? Can't really see what it's purpose is.

Well Fred answered the question last time it was posted. Thanks Fred!!

The only reason it is there is to put tension on the pivot pin to keep it from falling out during assembly into the stock. The trigger bracket is sandwiched between the stock and receiver when the screw is tightened. This little "trick" saved several minutes of assembly time.
Final assembly, which includes installing the trigger assembly and installing the stock and magazine only takes 1-1/2 minutes.

It shouldn't be hard to replace it if you so desire. Neither the compression nor the dimensions are terribly important!

Losing it was worth finding out what it was for.
