    looking for age of Model 110 L

    Picked up a Savage Model 110 L .270 Win in rough shape in a group of guns i bought for practice on fixing up guns. The serial number # is 60893. Any ideas on dates?

    Thanks

    It was manufactured somewhere between 1965-1966

    Thanks! Since its in rough shape but for future reference do these earlier rifles carry any collectors value?

    You can narrow that down some more by finding the date stamp on the barrel, if it's original. Look for a number and letter inside a circle. The letter will indicate the year made.
    R = 1964
    S = 1965
    T = 1966

    As for the collector value, everything has a collector value, you just have to find the right person.

    It has an 2S so 1965, what does the 2 signify?

    The 2 has no real meaning. Likely just the assembly station # or something.

    I wouldn't worry to much about collector value at this point if it's in really rough shape. If it were in very nice shape and all original that would be one thing, but I wouldn't put any money or effort into trying to restore it with hopes of it being worth anything more in the future.
