I have to confess that I have a weakness for Mauser style actions in my hunting rifles, the last one to find a home in the safe is a Zastava 7x57 Mauser. I love the barrel and action, but the stock was a bit of a throwback to the old Fajen days. So I got a nice English Walnut stock from a fella who makes the over here. It comes unfinished and there's a bit of inletting to be done, but after about 6 coats of Tru-Oil and some fine line checkering I ended up with the stock I wanted. It's called the English Sporter style with a straight comb and shadow line cheek piece. I made up a pistol grip cap out of some Aussie desert timber called Gidgee.
So far it's accounted for one Fallow deer and one hog. The 139gn Hornady SST's shoot really well with a good load of RL19. Sorry no pic but I still have to work that out.
