A few pieces of shoelace tied between the swivel studs.

Just kidding! What kind of sling are you looking for? A shooting sling? A carry strap? Something tactical?

    Funny!

I should have done a better job saying what I was looking for. I am looking for carrying strap in cammo that is very comfortable to use for long periods of time. Easy to put it on and take it off a lot.

Recently ordered one of these to try out. Haven't used it in the field yet, but so far I'm liking it. http://www.specialtyoutdoorproducts.com/

The other two slings I regularly run are a M1907 style leather sling and a Quick Carry Sling. The Quick Carry is fast and easy to adjust, but the nylon webbing is pretty slick and it's always sliding off my shoulder. The leather sling does a better job of staying put, but it's not nearly as quick and easy to adjust.

Thanks MrFurious. See this is why I came here. When I don't know anything about something there is a lot I can learn from folks who have done it already.

I looked at all three. Why don't you go try out the ultimate sling in the field and tell us how it works?

Way to go, now I am thinking I "need" a $43 sling.

Do they generally come with swivels?

deaddeerwalking. Just bought a claw from Mr. Walton. While I really wanted a cammo one they are $34 and I couldn't justify the premium. It is nice that it comes with the swivels for that price. I went with Mr. Walton since there was no shipping charge to ship it to a store.

    I hope it works well.

Now I need to try to get the knots untied from the shoe laces.

    Thank you.

If you want camo, Then just spray paint it.
I did this nylon one (it was black) years ago by painting it khaki and green stripes and then blotting on OD green over the khaki and khaki over the green with a sea sponge. It has held up very well and was just kind of experimental for me when I did it but it has held up very well indeed. I was painting the stock and decided what the heck I'll paint the sling too.

Put the claw on. Just walking around home I really like how it is really sticky on my shoulder. The real test will be after I walk a while through the bush.
