Frame of B&C Medalist / DIY side mount bipod

I am planning a little DIY project when I get back to the states. Basically I want to mount the legs of a bipod directly to the stock. I plan on shaving the fiberglass 'block sides' towards the end to get the proper angle for support.

I cannot tinker with the stock from where I am, but the basic question was how far does the frame extend to the tip of the stock? I would prefer it to be bolted to the aluminum vs just fiberglass.

Anyone know of a complete project along these lines?

I ahve noticed that some manufacturers are integrating bipods into their stocks.

    I hope it catches on!
