308win is a well behaved cartridge.
You got a great clambering for target or hunting!
My son has an 11 in 243. 0.75" with Hornady Sst or Fusion molycoats(100g), all day. Handloads cloverleaf all day.

My father in law has the 308 win in an older Savage, the 99F, feather weight lever gun. Great on black bear and deer. It's also a tack driver.

Put good rings and optics on it, and they will last.
