Setting up new rifle for son in law

    HELP!!!!!!!!

Son in law is right handed, so bought him a Stevens 200 to shoot doggies.

I haven't changed equipment in so long, plus Burris bases are new to me, so which way do the bases mount? These are longer than any I've ever used before. I'm not good at space/visual orientation issues. :-\

If I mount them with the back hole on the rear mount toward the buttstock, the action back is clear, but the base protrudes a tiny bit into the loading cut out.

For the front base the screw hole closest to the edge of the base faces forward, leaving the barrel nut free, again the base protrudes a tiny bit into the loading port.

Hope I've made myself clear. Wish I'd not bought these Burris bases.

    Thanks

    Mark

    Never mind.

Picatinny rail mount allows no right or wrong the way it looks to me. So whatever gets me correct eye relief is what I did. :P
