    Savage 308 With 1:11 Twist 5R Barrel

When did Savage make, if ever, a Model 10 SR 308 with a 24" 5R barrel in a 1:11.25 twist?
The Model 19055 is 5R but is the twist rate 1:11.25?

Maybe you could add some details like do you have one, why do you think its 1:11.25?

I have yet to see a US rifle with anything but full number twist rates. They are out there likely, but nothing like a norm.

7.5 Swiss has an add one (9.75) but its so close to 1-10 as to make no difference, probably a metric thing.

11.25 twist used to be very popular for the 308. I'm not sure about the old Savage rifle, but I know that used to be the standard twist on the USMC's M40 series rifles. Newer heavier 30Cal bullets have driven for the tight twist rates and many time the .25 tighter twist makes a big difference in what happens down range.

I know they made them around 2012 because I had one. It was an fcp hs 5r 11.25" twist. Made them in 24, 26, and 20 inch barrels

Thanks guys. Apparently the Savage SR 19055 had that twist rate. Found a description Savage Model 10 FCP 5R, model #19055S. Basically the FCP SR, but with an 1:11.25" twist barrel w/5R rifling. 24" fluted barrel threaded 5/8x24. Almost snagged a new one but it got away.
