Picatinny Rail For Bipod (Sub-Question... Did I order the right stock?)

I ordered a Boyd's thumbhole for my heavy stainless b-mag. (The sub question is: I gather the "bull barrel stock" is the correct one, though I always take "bull" to refer to a shorter barrel) I'm debating mounting a rail on the front grip and putting a bipod on that versus using the strap pivot. Anyone have any opinions on that? Despite having a flexy stock, I have been getting some really tight groupings at 100 yards, but that flex is total BS.

Yes, the bull barrel stock was the correct one for a heavy barrel rifle. Bull typically means no taper, meaning it's the same diameter it is at the muzzle as it is where it joins the action. As for the bipod mount, what's wrong with using the sling swivel stud? Most bipods come configured to mount on a stud and it works great so why spend the money on a rail that really isn't needed and will just snag on things when you're not using the bipod? Put that money towards a quality Harris Bipod and be done with it.

Yeah, I talked myself out of a rail... I blame too much coffee on that crazy idea. Thanks!
